As I was reading Matthew chapter 24, the words of Jesus gripped my heart. In verses 3-31, Christ sits with His disciples and lovingly tells them what to expect before His return. These are not just cryptic prophecies or distant warnings — they are signposts of hope and preparation straight from the mouth of our Savior.
Jesus wanted us to be informed. He wanted us to be ready. And above all, He wanted us to build a relationship with Him so deep that no deception could ever lead us astray.
📖 1. Christ’s Loving Warnings: Signs Before His Return
Jesus was so merciful to leave us with clear markers. In Matthew 24, He says:
- Many will come claiming to be the Christ.
- False prophets will arise and lead many astray.
- Nation will rise against nation, and there will be famines and earthquakes.
- The love of many will grow cold.
Yet He also promises that those who endure to the end will be saved.
“See that no one leads you astray…” — Matthew 24:4
It’s not fear-mongering — it’s love. Jesus gave us these truths so we would stand firm, not shaken or confused when these things unfold.
🌱 2. This is Why We Must Deepen Our Intimacy with Christ
In these days, we cannot afford a shallow faith. We must increase our time in the Word, pray without ceasing, and create or deepen our intimate relationship with Jesus.
Because when deception comes — and it will — only those anchored in the Word and led by the Holy Spirit will discern truth from almost-truth.
“Study to show yourself approved unto God…” — 2 Timothy 2:15
Normalize that Jesus is credible. His Word is credible. The Bible is not a dusty religious book, but letters and scriptures of truth, a guide for every area of our lives.
🔥 3. Don’t Be Led Astray — Know the Word for Yourself
The part that struck me most deeply is this:
“Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray.” — Matthew 24:5
Jesus didn’t say some would be deceived — He said many. And that’s why we must read the Word for ourselves. Not just once a week in a sermon, but daily, letting the Holy Spirit teach and reveal.
It’s for your life. It’s for your family’s life. And most importantly, it’s so you can learn and grow in Christ, secure in your relationship with Him.
Final Encouragement:
I love you all so much. This community we’re building — it’s not just for now, it’s to help us endure together until His return.
Be encouraged, stay in your Word, invite the Holy Spirit to give you understanding, and hold tight to the truth. We will overcome and endure together.
Stay well, beloved.
