“The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him — the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.” — Isaiah 11:2
🌿 Introduction: God With Us — Right Now
As I was reading Isaiah chapter 11, I was reminded of something powerful — the beautiful description of the Holy Spirit and His attributes. This passage gives us what many call the sevenfold description of the Spirit of God — not seven different spirits, but seven dimensions of His perfect work and presence.
Right now, we are living in the age where the Holy Spirit has been poured out on the Earth. He was sent by Jesus to help us, guide us, convict us, comfort us, and lead us into truth. He is not distant. He is not symbolic. He is God with us — actively at work right now if you invite Him in.
And that is why we must take seriously how we speak about Him, respond to Him, and honor Him. We must remember to put respect on His Name, because He is an extension of God the Father.
✨ The Sevenfold Description of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 11)
Isaiah describes the Spirit resting upon Christ with these attributes:
1️⃣ The Spirit of the Lord — God’s manifest presence
2️⃣ Wisdom — divine insight beyond human reasoning
3️⃣ Understanding — spiritual perception and clarity
4️⃣ Counsel — direction and guidance in decisions
5️⃣ Might — supernatural power and strength
6️⃣ Knowledge — deep awareness of God’s ways
7️⃣ The Fear of the Lord — reverence, awe, and holy honor
These are not abstract traits — these are the ways the Holy Spirit actively works in the lives of believers today.
He helps us choose rightly.
He warns us when we drift.
He strengthens us when we are weak.
He teaches us truth.
He draws us toward Christ.
He is not against us — He is for us.
⚠️ A Sobering Warning from Jesus
Jesus gives a very serious warning in the Gospels about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31–32, Mark 3:28–30). This is often called the unforgivable sin — not because God is unwilling to forgive — but because it represents a hardened, willful, settled rejection of the Spirit’s testimony about Christ.
It is not a careless sentence.
It is not a passing doubt.
It is not a moment of anger.
It is a persistent, hardened refusal of the Spirit’s witness and work — calling what is from God evil and refusing repentance.
That should awaken us to use caution — not scare our hearts — but awaken careless ones.
🎯 The Adversary’s Strategy: Normalize Mockery
We are seeing a cultural moment where mockery of sacred things is being normalized and even celebrated online. But viral rebellion is still rebellion. Trending rejection is still rejection. Darkness doesn’t become light because it gets views.
The adversary’s strategy has always been the same:
- Desensitize
- Distract
- Deceive
- Divide
- Destroy
He wants young and old alike to treat holy things casually. But eternal matters are not casual matters.
No pain, no disappointment, no church hurt, no confusion — no matter how real — is worth trading away your openness to the Spirit of God and eternal life. We are talking about where you are going to spend eternity. Nothing is worth being separated from the Love of God for eternity.
💚 The Holy Spirit Is Sent to Help — Not Harm
Jesus said the Holy Spirit is our Helper (John 14:26).
Our Comforter.
Our Teacher.
Our Guide.
He convicts — not to condemn — but to bring us back.
He corrects — not to crush — but to restore.
He leads — not to control — but to give life.
If someone feels stirred, convicted, or concerned — that is not proof they are beyond hope. That is often proof the Spirit is still calling.
And as long as someone can still respond — there is still invitation.
🙏🏾 A Call to Reverence and Relationship
This is the hour to grow in reverence — not fear that pushes away, but awe that draws near. Let us honor the Holy Spirit. Listen when He nudges. Repent when He convicts. Follow when He leads.
We don’t need less of Him — we need more.
💖 Final Encouragement
Family — choose life. Choose truth. Choose reverence. Choose relationship with God. The Holy Spirit is God with us — right now — reaching, helping, calling, teaching.
Do not fall for the adversary’s strategy of casual rejection. Eternity is too great. Christ is too worthy. The Spirit is too precious.
I love you all.💚
